Privacy Policy

This privacy policy (the “Policy”) describes how I collect, use and shares the personal information you provide to me and the information I collect in the course of operating my business and website.  By using this website you will be deemed to accept the terms of the Policy

The Information that I collect and where I get it from “Personal Information" is any information that can be used to identify you or that I can link to you and which I have in my possession or control.

I will collect and process the following Personal Information about you:
 

  • I will collect Personal Information about you when you contact me about providing services to you (for example, your name, address, email contact details and telephone number).
     

  • I may require further Personal Information from you (for example, your GP details) in order to comply with regulatory requirements.
     

  • Depending on the nature of the work I engage in with you, I may collect and use special categories of Personal Information about you or a third party you tell me about (for example, Personal Information origin, religious or philosophical beliefs).
     

Visits to the website

I will collect Personal Information that you voluntarily provide to me if you contact me through the website. This information may include your contact details including name, address, email and telephone number.

I use a third-party data processor, Wix.com, to host my website and help maintain its security and performance. To deliver this service it processes the IP addresses of visitors to my website.
 

Queries and Complaints

If you send a query or complaint to me, I will use the Personal Information you provide to me (for example, your name and the name(s) of any other individuals involved) in order to process your query or complaint and respond to you.
 

Sharing Your Information

I will not disclose any Personal Information you provide to any third parties other than:

  • Where I am under a legal or regulatory duty to disclose or share your personal information.
     

  • In order to enforce any agreements or terms and conditions between us.

Data Security

I have appropriate security measures in place to prevent your Personal Information from being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an unauthorised way, altered or disclosed.
 

I hold essential data electronically on a secure device. Network infrastructure is protected using firewalls and anti-malware software. I also have a back-up a server in a secure location.
 

I store papers which may contain Personal Information in lockable storage in my office when not being actively used. My office is secure.
 

When necessary, I dispose of or delete your data securely.
 

I ensure that agents and contractors are aware of their privacy and data security obligations and I take reasonable steps to ensure that employees of third parties working on my behalf are aware of their privacy and data security obligations.
 

I limit access to your personal information to those agents and contractors and other third parties who have a “need to know”.
 

I may give third parties access to the personal information I hold about you in order to comply with my regulatory obligations.
 

The transmission of information via the internet is never completely secure. Although I will do my best to protect your personal data, I cannot guarantee the security of your electronic information transmitted to me and any transmission is at your own risk.
 

I have put in place procedures to deal with any suspected data security breach and will notify you and any applicable regulator of a suspected breach where I am legally required to do so.

This Website may, from time to time, provide links to other websites. I have no control over such websites and I am not responsible for the content of these websites. This privacy policy does not extend to your use of such websites. You are advised to read the privacy policy or statement of other websites prior to using them.

 

Transferring your information outside the European Economic Area (EEA)

I do not transfer the information you give me to countries outside the EEA, except where the international transfer is necessary in connection with the services, I am providing to you.

If I transfer your information outside of the EEA in this way, and the country in question has not been deemed by the EU Commission to have adequate data protection laws, I will provide appropriate safeguards and I will be responsible for ensuring your privacy rights continue to be protected as outlined in this notice.
 

If you are outside the EEA, your information may be transferred outside the EEA in order to provide you with my services. By submitting your personal information to me in this way you agree to the transfer and processing of your information outside the EEA.

 

Data retention

I have a Retention and Archiving Policy which sets out my approach to the retention and deletion of the personal information I hold about you either in computer or manual files.

I will hold the information for as long as required by law or my regulatory obligations. My default retention period for personal data is twelve months unless otherwise specified by law.

Please note that Personal Information held on my client files may be retained for longer periods as it may be necessary to retain this data in order to protect legal rights and claims. Personal Information retained for longer periods may be securely stored in archive, either physically or digitally. These archives will not be generally accessible by myself unless it is necessary in the context of a legal claim or there is another overriding reason which justifies access to this data.

I review the personal data (and the categories of personal data) I am holding on a regular basis to ensure the data I am holding is still relevant to my services and is accurate. If I discover that certain data I am holding is no longer necessary or accurate, I will take reasonable steps to correct or delete this data as may be required.
 

Your Rights

You can request access to your personal information (commonly known as a "data subject access request"). This enables you to receive a copy of the personal information I hold about you and to check that I am lawfully processing it:
 

  • You can ask me to correct any information that I hold about you which is incorrect, incomplete or inaccurate.
     

  • You can ask me to erase your personal information from my files and systems where there is no good reason for me continuing to hold it.
     

  • You can object to me using your personal information to further my legitimate interests (or those of a third party) or where I am using your personal information for direct marketing purposes.
     

  • You can ask me to restrict or suspend the use of your personal information, for example, if you want me to establish its accuracy or my reasons for using it.
     

  • You can ask me to transfer your personal information to another person or organisation.
